milet is a Japanese singer-songwriter from Tokyo. She made her major debut on March 6, 2019, with the single “inside you,” produced by Toru of ONE OK ROCK, which topped 11 music charts in Japan, including iTunes.

Her popularity has soared since, marked by major music collaborations and noteworthy performances–including, the closing ceremony of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. 

Internationally recognized, milet has performed at several overseas music festivals, with her first solo concert in Taipei selling out in just two seconds. 

Fun fact: milet spent her childhood in Canada and is fluent in both English and French.

Anytime Anywhere – From Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End

“Anytime Anywhere” is the anime ending for the hit series *Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End*. Released in January 2024, this milet anime song is used continuously for both parts 1 and 2 of the season—a rarity in more recent anime works, but one that underscores its thematic significance.

In her official comment, milet shares that she sings about the feelings of deep, enduring love. She shares, “No matter when or where, I want to feel you in my heart. I want to be in your heart too.”

Through “Anytime Anywhere”, milet expresses a strong desire always to feel close to the one she loves, regardless of time or place.

Bliss – From Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End

“Bliss” is a special ending theme for the first two-hour episode of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End. With lyrics by milet, the song was composed by Evan Call, who also composed the music for the series.

When he first sent the song to milet, she shared that it instantly reminded her of the great outdoors.

In an interview, milet shared that she was requested by the anime staff to write a song that is sung in the world of Frieren. She focused on both the universal and abstract, sharing “In any generation, there are things we wish to protect, and things we want to love.”

In Japanese, milet translates the word bliss as “the joy of living.”

Kizuna No Kiseki – From Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Swordsmith Village Arc

“Kizuna No Kiseki” (絆ノ奇跡) is the anime opening for the third season of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, specifically the Swordsmith Village Arc.

Released in April 2023, the song features a collaboration between noteworthy rock band MAN WITH A MISSION, whom milet describes as “invincible.”

The song is massively successful and was certified RIAJ (Recording Industry Association of Japan) Platinum for over 100 million streams. 

In her official comment, milet expressed her excitement about lending her voice to such a globally beloved series. She says, “It’s a story of deep yet fleeting bonds and love. I will sing [the song] preciously, with all my heart.”

Koi Kogare – From Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Swordsmith Village Arc

“Koi Kogare” (コイコガレ) is the anime ending for the same season of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Swordsmith Village Arc, The song was released alongside “Kizuna No Kiseki” in April 2023.

Like the anime opening, this milet anime song was created in collaboration with MAN WITH A MISSION.

In her official comment, milet spoke about how she carefully layered my voice while thinking about what emotions she would feel and what expressions she would convey if she were in the Demon Slayer world.

She shares, “I sang while thinking about the earnest and honest desire to protect those important to you,” while hoping this song can add “bright colors like the sunrise” to the animated work. “Koi Kogare” was composed by Yuki Kajiura and was arranged by both Kajiura and MAN WITH A MISSION. 

Whereas the opening is written as “MAN WITH A MISSION X milet”, the ending is shared as “milet X MAN WITH A MISSION”—an opportunity for both talented artists to shine in this epic collaboration.

One Reason – From THE DEER KING

“One Reason” is the theme song for the movie THE DEER KING* This milet anime song was released in February 2022 as part of her second album, visions

In her official comment, milet shared how she wrote “One Reason,” after reading the novel and script. She thought about how small lives confronting hardship are connected, creating love in this one and only life. She expressed, “Humans are warm beings, after all.” She embraced this message, singing as if she was “swimming through a deep forest.”

In Director Masashi Ando’s official comment, he spoke about milet’s voice when the producer asked if there was any artist who had caught his attention recently. He shares, “Despite my limited knowledge of music, milet’s voice was the most memorable to me.”

He hoped that the song could convey the image of a message from a cherished person, expressing “I am here now because of you who cared about me.”

Grateful that an incredibly beautiful theme song was born, he hopes that “One Reason” will resonate in the hearts of those who watch this film.

Flare – From Ranking of Kings

“Flare” is the second anime ending theme for Ranking of Kings. This milet anime song was released in January 2022. 

In her official comment, milet shared her admiration for the protagonist Bojji, as he fearlessly steps forward with his small body, or how he laughs while holding back the tears from his big eyes.

She shared, “Ranking of Kings gently delivered a precious warmth to my heart that I had long forgotten. ” She wrote “Flare” to convey a message of encouragement to Bojji, with a message for him to “shine the brightest.”

Prover – From Fate/Grand Order – Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia

“Prover” is the second anime ending for Fate/Grand Order – Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia. This anime series comes from an adaptation of the popular Fate/Grand Order mobile game. 

In her official comment, milet shares how unbelievably happy she was to get this opportunity to be a part of the Fate series, which has a long history and is loved by many—including milet herself. She sings this dedicated to all of the characters in Fate/Grand Order, “who try to live on the border of life and death”

This milet anime song was released in February 2020. 

Tell Me – From Fate/Grand Order – Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia Special

milet worked on “Tell Me”, the theme song for a special episode of Fate/Grand Order – Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia. The milet anime song was released in February 2020, along with “Prover.” 

In an interview, milet expressed that the lyrics reflect the complex emotions of witnessing and being witnessed during a loved one’s final moments. She expresses, “The one who lives on says ‘I’ll always be here,’ while the one who is leaving thinks ‘I want to stay here a little longer.'”

While the song existed as a demo for a long time, milet changed the lyrics to match the Fate/Grand Order world.

Drown – From Vinland Saga

“Drown” is the second ending theme for season one of Vinland Saga. The song was released in November 2019. In her official comment, milet shares that she was overcome with a new feeling she had never known before, as she dove into the original work.

She wrote “Drown” layering the feelings of pain, hope, strength, and love that swirl inside of her. She shares, “I sang, pouring my emotions into a beat that felt like I was stomping hard on the ground, step by step.”

Wonderland – From Birthday Wonderland

“Wonderland” is the image song and insert song for the movie Birthday Wonderland, a fantasy adventure film directed by the acclaimed Keiichi Hara. This milet anime song was released in May 2019. 

In her official comment, milet expressed admiration for the director Hara and described how fun and exciting it was to create the song.

She shares, “I packed all the courage and dreams conveyed by the work into every sound that colors this song.” milet describes the movie as one that will change how you see the world.

Director Hara also wrote a comment about milet, sharing, “When I heard milet’s demo, I instantly thought, “This is it!” He describes how milet’s voice captured his heart and how “Wonderland” perfectly matched the worldview of his first fantasy movie.

The Show – From Birthday Wonderland

In addition to “Wonderland,” milet also worked on ”The Show,” the theme song for Birthday Wonderland. The song was released in May 2019 as part of the Wonderland EP.

In her official comment, milet shared that the song is a Japanese cover of the Australian singer Lenka’s song, with Japanese lyrics co-written by milet and director Hara. 

In his comment, Producer Yoshinori Takeda also spoke highly about milet, sharing that he was both struck and captivated when hearing her voice for the first time. He shares, “I was convinced on the spot that she was the only one suitable for this work.”
