Every QUEEN BEE anime song

QUEEN BEE (女王蜂) and their music is nothing short of spectacular. The group’s popular anime openings and endings—notably, “Mephisto” from the Oshi no Ko series—have brought them global recognition.

In this article, we introduce every QUEEN BEE anime song featured in a TV series.

Who is QUEEN BEE?

QUEEN BEE, also known as 女王蜂 (ziyoou-vachi) in Japanese, is a three-member Japanese rock band formed in 2009. QUEEN BEE’s songs are created and written by their incredible vocalist, Avu Barazono, better known as “Avu-chan.”

01 and 02 – From Undead Unluck Winter Arc

For the Undead Unluck Winter Arc television special, two songs by QUEEN BEE were featured. “01,” which previously served as the first opening theme for the TV series, returned as the opening theme for the special.

Alongside it, “02,” one of the coupling tracks from the 01 EP, was featured as the ending theme.

HIGH FLAME – From Fire Force

“HIGH FLAME” (強火) is the first opening theme song for Fire Force Season 3. This QUEEN BEE anime song was digitally released on April 5, 2025.

In QUEEN BEE’s official comment, Avu-chan writes that if we think of our hearts as a stove, the first thing we would do is flip the switch and ignite it to the fullest: “No matter the hopelessness in battle, or in life, I want to start a fire over and over again.”

Avu-chan shared excitement to hear this “quiet, yet also scorching” song play within the world of this work.

01 – From Undead Unluck

“01” is the opener for the Undead Unluck TV series. This QUEEN BEE anime song was released on November 15, 2023.

In the group’s official comment, Avu-chan reflects on the “affirmation of never giving up” that is depicted in this story, as the characters live through hardships, end their lives, and live again.

“01 (ZERO ICHI)” hopes to capture the fiery synergy between QUEEN BEE’s music and the Undead Unluck world.

Mephisto – From Oshi no Ko

Released on May 16, 2023, “Mephisto” (メフィスト) is anime ending for season one of the popular Oshi no Ko series. QUEEN BEE’s official comment repeats the following line: “Lies are love. Even though love can’t be a lie.

While Oshi no Ko reveals the dark side of the entertainment industry, Avu-chan speaks about how the song is “about every kind of work. It’s about how we stake our lives on our work, how once you start there’s no turning back.

The song is named after the demon in German forklore, also known as Mephistopheles, who commonly represents human desire and temptation.

Violence – From Chainsaw Man

a

Released on December 20, 2022, “Violence” (バイオレンス) is the anime ending song for episode 11 of the first season of Chainsaw Man. This hit anime series recruited a star-stutted list of artists, featuring ending themes by Aimer, Vaundy, ZUTOMAYO, and more.

In the QUEEN BEE’s official comment, Avu-chan hopes that “Violence” will make one feel the voltage, vivid intensity, and fragility of life and death in the animated work (and that the song will make you want to scream, “VIIOLEEENCE!!!!!”).

MYSTERIOUS – From Raven of the Inner Palace

“MYSTERIOUS” is the opening theme song for Raven of the Inner Palace. It was released on October 25, 2022.

In QUEEN BEE’s official comment, Avu-chan expresses that this QUEEN BEE anime song is an opening into a beautiful visual world of the animated work; “MYSTERIOUS” opens like a heavy velvet curtain and drifts away like smoke, leaving a lingering scent behind.

Fire – From Dororo

“Fire”(火炎) is the opening theme song for part 1 of Dororo. The 2019 series is a remake of the previous Dororo TV series from 1969. This QUEEN BEE anime song was released on January 29, 2019.

In QUEEN BEE’s official comment, Avu-chan writes about being a major fan of the original work since childhood, and the feeling of fate when asked to be a part of this work.

When the production requested a song that captures protagonist Hyakkimaru’s intensity and loneliness, “Fire” was the one and only song that came to mind.

HALF – From Tokyo Ghoul:re

“HALF” is the ending theme song for season 1 of Tokyo Ghoul:re, the sequel from the Tokyo Ghoul series. Released on April 24, 2018, it is QUEEN BEE’s first anime collaboration.

An interview about the song reveals Avu-chan’s dislike of the word half; also known as hafu, the term is very commonly used in Japan to reference and identify mixed-race people. “HALF” lyrics push for full self-expression and unapologetically embracing one’s whole self.

While the song was created before the request for collaboration came for the anime series, many fans speak to how perfectly its core themes fit with the half-ghoul characters. As Avu-chan comments, “It would be good for our songs to be received in many ways.”

Devilman no Uta (Avu-chan’s vocals) – From Devilman Crybaby

While not an original QUEEN BEE anime song, Avu-chan sings “Devilman no Uta,” the insert song in Devilman Crybaby. Released in 2018, this dark anime series is a modern remake of the 1972 Devilman series, where two friends confront reawakened demons seeking the end of humanity.

“Devilman no Uta” in Devilman Crybaby is a remix of the theme song from the original series.
