Last Stardust – From Fate/stay night [Unlimited Blade Works]

“Last Stardust” is an insert song for episode 20 of Fate/stay night [Unlimited Blade Works]. Released on July 29, 2015, this Aimer anime song was used in place of the usual opening theme for that episode.

In an interview, Aimer explained that “Last Stardust” was initially considered for the opening theme instead of “Brave Shine” (as mentioned below.) She described the two songs as a pair that “truly complement each other” and expressed her honor at having both included—noting that they were “born out of the backdrop” of the Fate series.

Brave Shine – From Fate/stay night [Unlimited Blade Works]

“Brave Shine” is the second opening theme song for season two of the 2014 anime adaptation of Fate/stay night [Unlimited Blade Works]. This Aimer anime song was released on June 3, 2015.

In her media comment, Aimer revealed how “Brave Shine” is based on losing her voice for the first time after starting her music career. She shared, “After experiencing what was my darkest moment, I focused my attention on the dawn that was ahead.”

“‘Brave Shine’ is a song of determination,” she explains, “that ‘I still want to sing.’”

Dareka Umiwo – From Terror in Resonance

Released on September 3, 2014, “Dareka Umiwo” (誰か、海を。) also known as “Dare ka, Umi wo,” is the ending theme for the anime Terror in Resonance

In Aimer’s official comment, she expressed her excitement for the series, wondering what kind of world will be depicted and what triggers will be pulled. She would be happy if her singing voice could “add color to that world.”

StarRingChild – From Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn RE:0096

“StarRingChild” is the opening theme for the final episode of the 2016 TV anime series Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn RE:0096

Released on May 21, 2014, this Aimer anime song was initially used as the theme song for episode 7 of the 2014 original video animation (OVA), Mobile Suit Gundam UC. When the series was recompiled into a TV anime format, this Aimer anime song was used once more for the final episode.

In an interview, Aimer notes how the anger and irritation in “StarRingChild” comes from “the contrast between adults and children” that appears in the lyrics–noting that this “anger, conflict, and hesitation are things that only adults can feel.”

RE: I AM – From Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn RE:0096

Released on March 20, 2013, “RE: I AM” is the opening theme for episode 18 of the 2016 TV anime Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn RE:0096. Similar to “StarRingChild”, this Aimer anime song was the opening theme for episode 6 of the 2013 Mobile Suit Gundam UC OVA, and was reused for the TV anime.

Aimer’s official website describes the piece as magnificent, highlighting its “strength never seen before in Aimer’s work.”

Like all Gundam Aimer anime songs, “RE:I AM” was written and produced by Hiroyuki Sawano, who also composed the anime’s music.

Anatani Deawanakereba Kasetsutouka – From Natsuyuki Rendezvous

Released on August 15, 2012, “Anatani Deawanakereba Kasetsutouka” (あなたに出会わなければ ~夏雪冬花~) is the ending theme song for Natsuyuki Rendezvous

In her official comment, Aimer explained how Natsuyuki Rendezvous is a work that conveys how our deep care for someone can make it difficult to live skillfully, but can also give us the strength to move forward– even when we’re feeling lost.

She shared how she was captivated by “the flowers proudly blooming throughout the work” as well as “the beautiful feelings towards a loved one.”

Re:pray – From BLEACH

“Re:pray” is the 29th ending theme song for BLEACH. This Aimer anime song was released on December 14, 2012.

According to Aimer’s official website, the song revolves around the theme of “farewell” or “parting” that one must come to terms with.

Described as a tear-jerking ballad, this Aimer anime song is said to “explode with grand melancholy” as it pulls the heartstrings of its listeners.

Rokutouseino Yoru – From No. 6

“Rokutouseino Yoru” (六等星の夜) is the ending theme song for No. 6. Released on September 7, 2011, this Aimer anime song marks her first anime collaboration.

In her official comment, Aimer shared how this song was created by comparing the loneliness she feels in her daily life to the isolation felt in the story’s utopic city—likening both to “the stars in the night sky.”

She hopes that fans of No. 6 will appreciate this song, “even just a little bit”
