Method – From SAKAMOTO DAYS Part 2
“Method” is the opening theme for SAKAMOTO DAYS Part 2. This Kroi anime song was digitally released on July 16, 2025.
In their official comment, Kroi shared how excited they were to contribute to the second cour, which is full of scenes they particularly love.
As the divide between daily life and battles grows, the band focused on capturing that contrast via sound. “While expressing a cheerful everyday life,” they explain, “we snuck in a few unsettling phrases to deliberately add tension.”
Kroi hopes listeners are reminded of “the importance of protecting our ordinary days, and the happiness within them.”
Sesame – From BUCCHIGIRI?!
Released digitally on January 10, 2024, “Sesame” is the opening theme for season one of BUCCHIGIRI?!.
Kroi spoke about how the crossover world of BUCCHIGIRI?! aligns with their own genre-blending sound. “We valued that jumbled up, playful spirit, that feels a lot like us, while writing,” they share in their official comment.
The band shared that they went through a lot of trial and error “to express the worldview and message of the work in our own way.”
Water Carrier – From SAND LAND: THE SERIES
Released digitally on March 20, 2024. “Water Carrier” is the opening theme for SAND LAND: THE SERIES.
This Kroi anime song was recorded nearly two years prior to its release. In their official comment, the band shared their excitement to finally be able to share this news.
“What is evil and what is justice, mismatched and inconsistent, yet a world where that is the truth,” Kroi writes, “in the unfolding adventures of Beelzebub and his companions, we think this song will let you feel even more thrill and excitement.”
Hyper – From UNDER NINJA
“Hyper” is the opening theme for season one of UNDER NINJA. Released digitally on October 4, 2023, this Kroi anime song marks their first collaboration with a TV anime.
Vocalist Leo Uchida explained in an interview, “The [song’s] tempo has momentum, but the lyrics are lethargic. That mismatch felt right for the protagonist’s struggle, and the worldview where each individual event, though small, is connected to a grand story.”
The band experimented with different sounds during production, including a melodica that keyboardist Daiki Chiba bought on the day of recording.
They also brought in a saxophonist whose “attack-like sound” became a defining part of the track. “I think it really boosted Kroi’s funk,” said bassist Masanori Seki.
