Homura – From Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train
Released on October 12, 2020, Homura (炎) is the theme song for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train.
In a 2020 interview, LiSA shared that she was drawn to Demon Slayer because, despite the pain each character endures, “through joining the Demon Slayer Corps, they choose their own path and commit to living.”
She shares in her official comment, “While carrying sadness, may everyone in the story, and everyone who similarly carries sadness, light a flame in their hearts and move forward with strength.”
Fun fact: LiSA is a Kyojuro Rengoku fan and shared that this is her favorite arc in the series.
narrative – From Mobile Suit Gundam Narrative
“narrative” is the theme song for the 2018 anime film Mobile Suit Gundam Narrative. Digitally released on November 27, 2018, the song is credited to SawanoHiroyuki[nZk]:LiSA, composer Hiroyuki Sawano’s collaborative vocal project.
“narrative” was the first collaboration between Sawano and LiSA. In a joint 2018 interview, LiSA commented that she had always wanted to ask Sawano to write a song for her, while Sawano revealed that it was singer Aimer who encouraged him to connect with LiSA.
In her official comment, LiSA shared her happiness to work on a Gundam song for the first time. She writes, “‘narrative’ is a grand ballad that carries great power, even in its transience.”
Catch the Moment – From Sword Art Online The Movie: Ordinal Scale
“Catch the Moment” is the theme song for Sword Art Online The Movie: Ordinal Scale. Released on February 15, 2017, this is LiSA’s first song for an animated feature film.
In her official comment, LiSA spoke about how the characters “cherish living each and every moment with their precious friends.”
She further explained in a 2017 interview that watching the characters made her wish their joyful moments could last forever. She then realized, “That’s the same feeling I have toward my fans.”
While the song is rooted in the story, she comments, “I was able to write very honestly about what I’m feeling right now.”
