RUN SAKAMOTO RUN – From SAKAMOTO DAYS

“RUN SAKAMOTO RUN (走れSAKAMOTO)” is the first opening theme for SAKAMOTO DAYS and was digitally released on January 12, 2025.

In his official comment, Vaundy expressed his excitement at composing music for a series he loves deeply; he praised its artwork, storyline, and “that addictive contrast between everyday life and deadly battles.”

Somebody help us – From SAKAMOTO DAYS

“Somebody help us” is the special ending theme song featured in episode 7 of SAKAMOTO DAYS. This Vaundy anime song was digitally released on February 16, 2025.

Homunculus – From My Hero Academia: You’re Next

“Homunculus” (ホムンクルス) is the theme song for the movie My Hero Academia: You’re Next. This Vaundy anime song was released on August 14, 2024.

In his official comment, Vaundy shared that he grappled with the question of his own “quirk” during the song creation process. Encouraged by the image of the “protagonist who fights strongly”, he thought about how he could cheer on the characters of My Hero Academia and believes he was able to put his answer into the song.

A huge fan of the series, Vaundy adds, “I think this has become a creation that marks a milestone in my musical career.“

Time Paradox – From Doraemon: Nobita’s Earth Symphony

Released on February 24, 2024, “Time Paradox” (タイムパラドックス) is the theme song for Doraemon: Nobita’s Earth Symphony, the 43rd Doraemon movie. This Vaundy anime song was created with the hope that it would remain memorable for the children watching it at the movies, even 20 years from now.

For “Time Paradox,” Vaundy aimed for a simple structure familiar to children’s ears yet still offer a deep musical composition for adults to appreciate. In his official comment, he hopes it will be a song that “people can enjoy for a long time, transcending generations.”

Vaundy expressed his amazement at being able to contribute to a series he used to watch at the movie theater every year, sharing “My childhood self is rewarded.”

Todome no Ichigeki – From SPY×FAMILY

Released on October 8, 2023, “Todome no Ichigeki” (トドメの一撃) serves as the ending song for season 2 of SPY×FAMILY. This Vaundy anime song, translating to the “final blow,” features Minneapolis-based guitarist and songwriter Cory Wong.

In his official comment, Vaundy candidly expressed his mix of insecurity, great excitement, and honor when asked to create the ending theme for such a beloved series. 

He shared that the song is centered on the character Yor’s inner conflict within the constructed family, aiming to affirm her existence. While Yor appears strong and with nothing to lose, Vaundy explained, “I think it’s okay [for her] to be the Yor who protects her family.”

CHAINSAW BLOOD – From Chainsaw Man

“CHAINSAW BLOOD” was featured as the first ending theme song to season 1 of the Chainsaw Man series. This Vaundy anime song was released on October 12, 2022.

In his official comment, Vaundy shared how happy he felt to produce a piece for a work he loved so dearly. He dived deep into the Chainsaw Man manga, absorbing its essence to ensure his music reflected the series accurately. “I chewed and swallowed the flavor of Chainsaw Man,” he explained, “and I believe I was able to spit out music that I felt was appropriate for this work in my own way.” 

Vaundy hopes the song can “help breathe life into this incredible work and its characters,” and remains enjoyable long after the episodes are over. 

“CHAINSAW BLOOD”  is part of the TV anime series’ star-studded discography, featuring major artists including Kenshi Yonezu, Aimer, Queen Bee, ZUTOMAYO, and many more.

Backlight (Composed by Vaundy) – From ONE PIECE FILM RED

​Released on July 6, 2022, “Backlight” (逆光) was composed by Vaundy for the ONE PIECE FILM RED movie. This song is performed by the main character Uta, whose singing voice is provided by J-pop star, Ado. Vaundy’s version of the song is available in the concert video above.

In an interview, Vaundy explained that he composes songs “based on images that come to mind.” He envisioned Uta in the foreground with the silhouettes of pirates standing against the light in the background; he elaborated that in ONE PIECE, the Marines and the World Government represent the light of society—making the pirates, who oppose them, the backlight.

Vaundy was one of many noteworthy composers featured in the movie’s hit soundtrack

Hadaka No Yusha – From Ranking of Kings

“Hadaka No Yusha” (裸の勇者, translating to “Naked Hero”) is the second opening theme for the anime Ranking of Kings, Released on February 23, 2022, this marks Vaundy’s first song for an anime collaboration.

In his official comment, Vaundy candidly shared his struggle in deciding what kind of song to create for his first anime collaboration. The song was born from his desire to incorporate the characters’ beliefs, centered around the protagonist Bojji, in their efforts to be “good” in their own ways.  He shared, “They are fighting not for themselves, but for others.”

He hopes listeners can feel the conflicts and love that arise “in a world that can’t be divided by terms like “enemy and ally.” He adds, “Ranking of Kings is the best.”
